A ködös és esős reggel nem kimondottan kipihenten talál, de ki lenne kipihent egy egész éjszakás alkudozás, majd több órás zötykölődés és végül 3 óra alvás után.
Az idő nem akar javulni, ahogy elindulunk.
Miután egy autóval kevesebb lett, elhatároztuk, hogy a tavat megkerülve Vardenizen keresztül elmegyünk Gorisig, onnan ketten megyünk tovább Stepanakertbe a rövid útvonalon, ketten pedig lemennek taxival Kapanba előkésziteni a terepet. Igy is tettünk, Gorisban szétpakoltuk kicsit az autót és Ákossal (Team L&L’s egyik fele) elindultunk a Pajeroval Karabahba, mig Szabolcs és Zoli eltaxizott egy Ladával Kapanba.
Erről az útról nincsenek maradandó élményeink (képeket a többi blogból lopok eredet megjelöléssel), hacsak az nem, hogy egy kék Moszkvicsos majdnem belénk rongyolt egy kanyarban, amit az épeszű sebesség kétszeresével igyekezett bevenni lejtőn lefelé, de megúsztuk.
Egész normális időben értünk a szállásunkra, a jó öreg Hotel Yerevanba, ahol az újoncok megcsodálhatták az orosz tulajdonos gáláns méretezését, ugyanis a szobákat inkább lakásnak kellene hivniuk. A modern berendezés nagyon rendben van, de hogy miért kell egy mosdónak (é: egy mosdó kagylónak) 20 négyzetméteres helyiség…? Mindenesetre az első félórát mindenki vinnyogva fényképezte végig.
A balzsamos este a 200 méterre lévő étteremben talált minket, ahol azt játszottuk, hgy olyanokat kértünk, amiről fogalmunk nem volt, hogy micsoda. Kivéve egy pizzát. A kaják be is jöttek, bár volt, amit elcseréltünk és volt olyan is, ami kávékiöntőben érkezett és Zsülien névre hallgatott.
Néhány sör és pici vodka után behullottunk az igen méretes ágyainkba…

I woke up really tired on a foggy / rainy morning… my tiredness was obvious after an all night negotiaiton at the border then hours of rolling in the back of the Rocky then 3 hours of sleep.
Apparently the weather didn’t plan to get better when we strated.
Since we had one car less we decided to push till Goris by getting around the lake towards Vardeniz and split. 2 of us go to Stepanakert to meet the teams and 2 others go directly to Kapan to get ready for our arrival the next day. So we unloaded some stuff which Szabolcs and Zoli took with them to Kapan, caught a taxi and they left. Me and Akos were driving to Stepanakert on the easy road while the others tested their vehicles in the mountains.
Nothing special happened, really (I even need to steal some photos from the other blos.).. apart from the fact that we almost died when a crazy Moskvitch driver tried to take a road bend (downhill) with double the speed the car could handle – but we stayed alive.
We got to the hotel pretty early. Good old Hotel Yerevan in Stepanakert… the newbies of the Caucasian Challenge admired the generosity of the Russian owner who dedicated enormous space to the rooms which could easily be called apartments. The modern enteriour was nice but why the heck do they allocate 20 square meters for a single wash basin…?
Anyhow, the first 30 minutes were about “come, look at this” and making photos of the crazy hotel (Why the hell is that I cannot find any when I need one?).
The evening was gentle and we spent our time in the neighbouring garden restaurant playing the funny game of ordering exclusively dishes we didn’t understand at all. I mean the menu. But as usual we got nice food although didn'”t really know which one we ordered and a dish (actually teo) arrived in a coffee pot – call Julien.
A couple of beers a tiny little vodka and we got back to the hotel for checking emails and have a good sleep in our supersized beds.
