A tegnapi kemény nap után nem kellett korán kelni, amire szüksége is volt a fáradt legénységnek. A mai táv könnyú és laza, kétszázvalahány kilométer mindössze Ambrolauriból Tbiliszibe. Közben megállunk Goriban megnézni Sztálin elvtárs szülőházát és a szerény múzeumot, melyet neki emeltek, mindezt persze a Sztálin sugárúton.
A városvezetés júniusban megdöbbentő hirtelenséggel az éj leple alatt távolitotta el a városháza előtt évtizedek óta álló 6 méter magas Sztálin szobrot, igy erről az idei versenyzők már lemaradtak, de igy is érdekes hely ez a Gori.
Volt, akiknek nem sikerült Goriba jutniuk – a Magnum R Team Land Cruiserébe csúnyán beleszállt egy helyi vállalkozó jobbkormányos Tranzit gépjárművével.
Igy a csapat órákat töltött egy kisváros rendőrőrsén, ahol felvették a jegyzőkönyvet (2 óra) majd lefénymásolták 2 példányban (3 óra). A helyi egyezményes jelekkel (zsebek kiforditása) jelezte, hogy neki ugyan egy fillérje sincs, hogy a kárt kifizesse (Grúziában nincs kötelező biztositás rendszer), majd elvitték a járművet egy helyi szerelőhöz, ahol biznak benne, hogy a megfelelő évjáratú LC-hez lesz egy hátsó hid, ami kicsit elgörbült az ütközés következtében. A csapat sértetlen és jól van, bár érthetően kissé bosszús. A lengyel Awanturnik nászutas csapat, amely eddig végig segitett minden rászoruló csapatnakvelük maradt, hogy szükség esetén segitsenek nekik.
Tbilisiben egy pompás hotel fogadta a csapatokat, mire a 2-es szervező autóval begördültünk (mi is vártunk egy kicsit a baleset után), már több tucatnyi sör volt a kerti asztalokon és a legtöbben az esti Tbilisi felfedezésére készültek.
Tbilisi jó hely, remek éttermek, kiváló bárok vannak és valahogy igen poztiv hangulat lengi be az egész várost.
Az este sokak számára kimeritő volt. Mindig mondjuk, ne keverjük a csacsát a sörrel…

After yesterday’s tough day we did not need to wake up early and we really needed the rest badly. Today’s driving distance is only twohundered-someting kilometers on good roads. We stop en route to see the house where Stalin was born in Gori, the giant museum they erected for him – obviously on the Stalin Avenue.
The city administration has suddenly removed the 6 meter high Stalin statue – which has been standind there for decades – overnight, literally. So this year’s participant had no chance to see the giant statue but there’s still a lot of interesting things to see in Gori (including other Stalin statues).
Some did not make it to Gori – Magnum R Team’s Land Cruiser was hit by a local man driving a RHD Ford Transit. Nobody was hurt in the accident but the LC’s rear axle was badly damaged and it has to be trailered to the nearest mechanic. The Transit driver however showed with international signs (showing his empty pockets) that he cannot pay for the damage but soon he was convinced by local authorities to help the Toyota team out otherwise he’s in trouble. Let’s hope they find the right part or a solution how to proceed.
The team spent several hours atthe police station of a small town while they got the rport done (2 hours) and made some photocopies (another 3 hours). The Polish honeymoon team Awanturnik joined in case they need help – them like they helped many others in the previous days.
We had a fabulous hillside hotel in Tbilisi and by the time Pace Car 2 arrived (we also spent some time with the Magnum team to try to help them) the garden bar’s glass tables had tough time holding dozens of beer bottles. Most of the teams were ready to explore the evening and night in this wonderful capital. It has a lot to offer and not just in amazing food and drinks.
Not surprisingly, some of the guys had some problems the next morning… well, we always said not to mix beer with chacha…
